About ZsDiningAdventures

Welcome to ZsDiningAdventures. Our site is dedicated to those of you that just plain enjoy dining out.   So you’re probably wondering ‘just who are these people’ and what makes them qualified to tell me what restaurants I should or should not go to.  Well, we’re just your average, everyday people and are by no means food critics or connoisseurs.  Quite simply, we really enjoy dining out (that can also be interpreted as “don’t like to cook”) and over the years have come to appreciate restaurants that offer good food, good service, and a pleasing atmosphere; making the experience a true “adventure”.  For years we went out to eat at least once a week and found ourselves visiting the same places over and over, maybe out of habit or pure laziness, and while we certainly enjoyed dining at these establishments, it became extremely boring.

We decided to enhance our experience, adding to the adventure, so we devised a plan. Our plan is pretty basic since there are only two rules. The first rule is that no restaurant can be repeated and must be some place we’ve never been before and the second rule is that neither of us can object to a restaurant chosen by the other.  Our choices can run the gamut from a neighborhood corner bar to a five-star, white tablecloth restaurant requiring reservations a couple of weeks ahead (advanced planning is definitely needed for this).  Now, keeping in mind the likes (and in some cases, extreme ‘dislikes’) of the other, neither of us would knowingly choose a restaurant who’s menu didn’t offer at least something acceptable to the other, but slip-ups can happen and that’s where the real adventure comes in.

We selected Tuesday as our “night out” for no particular reason other than it was a day we agreed upon and we were pretty sure that reservations wouldn’t typically be required on that night (also, usually no wait). Each week we take turns selecting the restaurant and the choice remains a secret from the other until we arrive.

The summary of our experiences are simply our opinions, and at times you will notice that we might not completely agree with each other, but that’s just one of the things that makes this fun for us. But because we are not restaurant critics, at least not professional ones, we understand that everyone’s opinion may differ from ours, so read our comments and decide for yourself which of these restaurants you might like to visit, but above all have fun and….MAKE IT AN ADVENTURE!

Note from the author:  As you browse through our posts, I’m sure that you’ll come across MANY restaurants that are either no longer in business or are operating under a different name.  We realize this as well, but with 5 plus years of ‘adventures’ it would take forever to go through and update them all.  As we happen upon a new one (that USED TO BE one that we’ve already visited, a note to that effect will be made).  Also, and I can’t stress this enough…. these are just our OPINIONS!  We welcome and encourage you to share your comments and experiences regarding any of these restaurants.

Great website. I love the candid comments about some of the places we have dined at. You have captured the “drive home” conversations that many couple have after leaving an establishment. Maybe ad a point vs counter point. Mr Z vs Mrs. Z. Can you ad a section on your blood pressure and cholesterol after eating at some of the lower caliber joints. ha ha

Its like you read my mind! You seem to know a lot about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you could do with some pics to drive the message home a little bit, but other than that, this is great blog. A great read. I will definitely be back.

Have you ever considered about including a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is important and everything. Nevertheless just imagine if you added some great visuals or videos to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with pics and video clips, this blog could undeniably be one of the greatest in its niche. Fantastic blog!
