Lindey’s Lake House

1 January, 2020 | Bar and Grill, Bistro, Seafood | By: Mrs Z

Having studied the online menu at Lindey’s Lake House several times over the past year or so, and having decided it just didn’t sound overly interesting, it turned out that Mr. Z chose it this Tuesday night.  I was actually pretty excited since I had seen several things on the menu that appealed to ME, but wasn’t too sure what he might find, so if it turned out not to be a great pick, it wasn’t on me!

I decided to try Lindey’s Lobster Roll, which while it was ok; it was JUST ok – it didn’t have much flavor which was a huge disappointment.  In all fairness though, there was quite a bit of lobster meat in the roll which was perfectly toasted without being overly so, and it had a nice buttery taste…but REAL lobster or not; I felt it was very overpriced.  It was accompanied by cucumber salad and housemade chips.  Both of which were also just ok.  Mr. Z went with the special this night, which was a BBQ rib/chicken combo, accompanied by fries and coleslaw.  He said that the ribs and chicken were both pretty good, but the fries were ice cold and very underwhelming.  Since he didn’t want his coleslaw, I tasted it and it turned out to be very good.  We also had ordered their house-made cornbread as a starter and it was also very good, though somewhat bland.

While this sounds way more negative than we actually felt; I’m not sure we’d revisit Lindey’s, but if so, there are a few other things on their menu that sound good.  Overall, I think that everything was a bit overpriced, so for that reason alone, not sure why we would go back.  You be the judge……
