Arashi Japanese Cuisine
Although overall, MOST Japanese Steakhouses are pretty much the same, this one stood out just a bit! The décor was nice, but very much like all the others and the service was exceptional. The fact that the place was pretty empty probably contributed to that, but our server was young, energetic and had a great sense of humor. As it turned out, we were the only 2 people at one of the hibachi tables and unlike most places where they try to make you wait to see if they can fill up the table before the chef begins cooking, she took our orders immediately and brought drinks, salad and soup and we were next in line for the chef, but just as we were finishing up our salads, a very young couple obviously on a date (possibly their first) were seated at our table. The server game them menus, took drink orders (waters only) but each time she tried to take their orders, they giggled and said they weren’t ready yet, so we waited…and waited…and waited some more. Our server KNEW exactly what we were thinking and seeing that we were growing impatient, she almost pushed them into making up their minds and ordering. Sadly for them, their soup and salad came as the chef was already preparing the meals. In any case, the food was exceptionally fresh-tasting and had a hint of ‘something’ that I’ve never tasted in a hibachi steakhouse before. $$ were comparable to other places we’ve visited and we would definitely go back to this one again if out in that area!
