Peppermill Pub & Grill
This neat little pub was quite a surprise since we had no idea that the strip center in which it’s located even existed. Tucked back on a little side-street right off Brecksville Road, was a remarkably good bar and grille that was definitely more impressive on the inside than it appeared from the parking lot.
Since it was just a little after 5pm on this Tuesday; we weren’t surprised to find that we were the only customers in the dining area (there were a couple of folks seated at the bar); but as time went on, only one other table was occupied.
While our meals were good; one word of warning…… do not be deceived by the menu that their website shows as it is totally inaccurate! When the hostess / server seated us, she gave us a single, printed sheet consisting of just a few items (maybe 2 each, appetizers, entrees, specials) and THAT was the entire menu. Fortunately, we were both able to find something interesting from that sheet. I decided to try the soup special which was a Tuscan Bean and it was outstanding. I also had the Goat Cheese salad with grilled chicken. It too, was wonderful. They had a ½ rack Baby Back Rib special, which is what Mr. Z ordered and was very pleased with his choice.
Overall, the food was very, very good but we felt a little deceived because the menu offered wasn’t what was shown on their website. In fact, someone at the only other occupied table commented on that fact. It was a family with small children who had looked at the online menu as well and was a little put off that it wasn’t factual. As we were finishing our meals, the (apparent) owner/cook asked us how we liked everything and we replied that it was very good, though we were a little confused about the menu. We asked him if that was going to be IT going forward and were they planning on expanding it at all….his response was somewhat vague, so we have no idea what they will offer down the road. All we can say is that what we HAD was very good. Worth a try if you don’t mind a very limited menu!
