Rose’s Italian Kitchen
Very cool place and very sorry it’s on the East Side of the city, rather than a bit closer to home! Though their menu wasn’t huge, they had a little of everything and the portions are huge. The entrees don’t come with a salad or side, so I ordered a house salad and was shocked to see that it was the size of an entrée salad – definitely enough for three people but delicious. Mr. Z had the veal parmesan and said it was just ok. The flavor (sauce) was very good, but parts of the veal were a little on the tough/chewy side while other parts were tender. I had the Pasta Rose which was excellent, but way too much food for one person, especially after that salad (and too much of their amazing bread). Our server, Fashea, was wonderful as well; offering several suggestions about the dishes.
I meant what I said – I tried to talk the owner into opening up one on the West side, but he wasn’t having any of it – what a shame! We will certainly be going back to Rose’s!
