Amici Italian Restaurant

1 July, 2018 | Italian | By: Mrs Z

Prior to becoming Amici’s, this place (located right at the corner of Rt. 82 and W. 130th in a non-descript strip center) had been many things – none of which we had ever taken notice of before, nor would we have even given this a second glance had it not been for someone dropping off a flyer at my place of business one afternoon.  I might have thrown it away, but since I noticed the word “Italian” (and you know how we love Italian food) on it and the fact that it was so close, I tossed it in my purse and when I got home, took a closer look.  The name wasn’t familiar, so I assumed it was either something we had never noticed before, or someplace that was under new ownership/management and the name was new.  In either case, it was worth checking out.

The menu offers a wide variety of typical Italian dishes (ex. Lasagna, veal/chicken/eggplant parmesan, etc.) and though I’m not a huge lover of most marinara sauces, theirs was OUTSTANDING!!!  If I could have ordered just a couple of bites of everything on the menu, I would have, but instead went with AROUND THE BOOT, which was a smaller portion of lasagna, eggplant parm and chicken parm.  All three were outstanding.  Mr. Z had the baked ziti which he thought was great as well.

Our server, Jasmine, was awesome…..fun, knowledgeable and very attentive.  One of the owners, Frank, came out and took the time to chat with each of the patrons as well, which is always a great touch.  We don’t remember what it was before, but are very glad it is now Amici’s.  In addition to the “restaurant” side, they also have the “bar” side (Dino’s Bar) which offers the exact same menu in a more casual atmosphere.

Two thumbs up and we’ll be repeat customers for sure!
