Bar Louie

Once again, another default destination!  We hadn’t originally intended to come here, but as has happened in the past, the original choice was out of business (they really should get rid of their answering machine giving their business hours and special events – very misleading)!

Overall, it wasn’t too bad.  Amazingly, it was jam-packed on a Tuesday night and VERY loud.  It took longer to track down a hostess to seat us than it did to get service.  There were a few unique-sounding items on the menu, but in the end, it was pretty much just an overpriced bar.  After looking at the menu, we learned WHY they were so crowded – Tuesday is $1.00 burger night!  However, don’t be misled by the come-on…..that’s $1.00 just for a pre-cooked (medium well only) burger.  All additional items / toppings START at $1.00.  By the time you’re done dressing up your pre-cooked (and possibly over-cooked) burger, you could have ordered one of their many specialty burgers right off the menu and spent about the same $$!  I got a little risky and tried something that was described as a chicken quesadilla with a fried egg on top.  It was………interesting!  WAY too much cilantro and very little chicken.  Let’s just say that I’d never order it again, nor would I recommend it.

Our server was crazy-busy, but very nice and did her best to be attentive, but the place was a zoo and she apparently had many tables, so we were there longer than we wanted to be.  In the end, we were glad that we finally gave this place a try, but I don’t think we’d go out of our way for a repeat visit.

Bar Louie has 2 locations in the Cleveland area.  Legacy Village in Lyndhurst or in Crocker Park in Westlake.  We visited the Legacy Village location.
