Whistlestop

Really neat little bar. Even though we only had sandwiches and soup, it was better than your average bar.

Blue Moose Bar

In a word…. disgusting!!  This place smelled so bad that even if the food was good, we couldn’t have enjoyed it!!  Definitely a very old BAR….on a positive note, the beer was good!

Fairview Tavern

Another “corner bar” type of place.  Most likely an institution in the area since it seemed to have been there for years.  The burgers were pretty good, but the service (on a TUESDAY) was so bad that I’m not sure we’d go back if they were giving them away for free!

London Pickle Works

Such a cool, trendy-sounding name for a……….plain old bar.  The food was actually pretty good and the atmosphere was…….a bar.  No further elaboration needed.

Bar Centro

We had heard great things about this place in Ohio City, and I’m not sure exactly what we were expecting, but were a little disappointed at the very limited menu.  Since there weren’t too many things that sounded appealing, we ended up ordering burgers and WOW, they were fabulous – as were the fries (served […]

Brother’s Lounge

Very deceptive from the outside – didn’t look very inviting!  Inside it was a cool little bistro-type bar. Tues. was sushi night, but sadly the sushi wasn’t very good. Otherwise it was okay.  Not a very diverse menu and probably wouldn’t have any reason to go back.

Tremont Tap House

This place was just okay.  Doubtful that we’d ever find a reason to return (unless we were in the market for one of the thousands of beers they carry), but the experience wasn’t bad – just average.

The Public House

Along “bar row” in the Kamms Corner neighborhood, this was actually nicer on the outside than inside, but the food was great (for bar food).  Some unusual dishes that were very good, but unfortunately the service was SO bad that we wouldn’t even consider going back.  If Tuesdays (no specials running) were this bad, I […]

Tradesman’s Tavern

A very cool, old-fashioned, authentic BAR where everyone is a ‘regular’ (whether they’ve ever been there before or not). Great service and excellent food and the best cabbage soup ever!!  We noticed a nice patio as well, and would love to go back during the summer months.

The City Club

A clever name for a very dark, typical neighborhood bar with a very limited menu.  The gyro and the burger we ordered were good, but it was another of those places that smelled of very old, stale cigarrette smoke.  Really, these places should have invested a couple of $$ to do a thorough cleaning after […]
