Nighttown

19 August, 2008 | Bistro, Irish | By: Mrs Z

Very cool little place with a warm and inviting feel to it.  Sort of leans towards an Irish theme and there were several really good Irish dishes on the menu.  We had heard that they do alot of live music on the weekends, but unfortunately it was pretty quiet on a Tuesday.  Will have to […]

Melt Bar and Grill

24 June, 2008 | Bar, Bistro, sandwiches / soups / salads | By: Mrs Z

OMG what an awesome place.  Cheese, cheese and more cheese – combined with everything under the sun.  Unless you are very hungry or are planning to share – this is not the place to go.  The sandwiches were outrageously huge, but SO good!

Boulevard Blue

13 May, 2008 | Bistro, Mediterranean, Steak / Seafood, Traditional / American | By: Mrs Z

This place was phenomenal and absolutely packed – surprising for a Tuesday night.  Nevertheless, the service was excellent; the atmosphere wonderful and the menu selection was pretty extensive.  They have a pretty diverse menu and both entrees (a chicken dish and a seafood dish) were very good.  Reasonable prices, but tough to find a parking spot […]

Player’s on Madison

26 February, 2008 | Bistro, Fine Dining, Traditional / American | By: Mrs Z

We really enjoyed this place.  Everything was really good – both the food and service.  The menu has a large variety of really interesting-sounding dishes, along with some more typical items.  The atmosphere was really neat and they’ve got a cool little patio in the front (not appropriate for this weather though).  Would highly recommend it.

Jackie’s Casual Cuisine

Oh my goodness!  This place was the former Chester’s up on the hill off of Rockside Road.  There just aren’t enough NEGATIVE adjectives to describe this place.  They hadn’t been open for business that long, but this a case where if you don’t know what you’re doing or aren’t “ready” – don’t open!!!  The service […]

Flying Fig

22 January, 2008 | Bistro | By: Mrs Z

While we really love the Ohio City / Tremont area and have enjoyed most of the places we’ve visited there, this wasn’t one of our ‘favorites’.  There was nothing particularly bad or wrong, just nothing to really stand out as “OMG we HAVE to go back there”!  The food and service were just okay!

Bella Moon

Formerly Hunter’s Pub – there was nothing noteworthy about this place.  Sort of dark and old inside and both the food and the service were just mediocre (or less).  With all of the fabulous restaurants out there, we can’t see any reason to go back.

Cornerstone Brewing Company

8 January, 2008 | Bistro, Sports Bar | By: Mrs Z

Neat little sports bar with an interesting menu.  Definitely more ‘bar-food’ than anything else, but a nice atmosphere with decent service.  I ordered a sampler platter of different kinds of bratwurst, sauerkraut and german potato salad.  The dish was ok, but what was supposed to be hot was cold, and what was supposed to be cold was […]

Theory

Very cool place in Tremont, but after being blown away by the atmosphere, service and exceptional food; we found out this was the last seating for them and that they were closing for good the next day!

Vue

While the food was very good, the presentation was just a little too frou-frou!  I love a really nice meal, but could never understand the need to disguise a very basic meal by making the preparation sound more complicated than the average person understands.  Make no mistake, our entrees were excellent, but we had to […]
