Dervish Mediterranean Grill

27 March, 2012 | Mediterranean | By: Mr Z

Definitely my kind of place (must have been my lucky day). A cute, authentic looking little Mediterranean cafe in a strip center right off of 83. The service was very good, but the food was EXCELLENT (at least from my perspective). Although they had no liquor license, we were allowed/encouraged to go a couple of doors down to the wine shop where we could ‘bring in’ either wine or beer – SO I DID!  He had the chicken vegetable soup and the chicken kebob, both of which were very good, though the soup needed salt. We ordered an appetizer which was feta cheese and spices rolled into little phyllo dough tubes and deep-fried. VERY good. I had stuffed cabbage, which may have been the 2nd best (only to Cafe Europa) ever!!! Pretty reasonably priced as well.

NOTE:  This was one of those places that, although we didn’t disagree on anything, we did have differing views.  I was much more enthusiastic than he was when it came to the menu offerings (and it was HIS pick)!
