Kumo Japanese Seafood Buffet

14 October, 2014 | Chinese, Japanese | By: Mrs Z

I’ve never been much of a fan of buffets since it’s really hard to maintain food quality when it’s sitting over steaming water, or under heat lamps for any period of time!  Unfortunately, this really wasn’t much different, BUT…..being honest, I can’t say that we were disappointed since most everything we tried was “ok” and in a couple of cases, actually good!

If you’re looking for QUANTITY, then you certainly won’t be disappointed.  This was perhaps one of the largest buffets I’ve ever seen.  They had a massive array of sushi, most of which tasted fresh, but since I’m a sushi lover I have to say that for the most part, it all tasted the same.  Again, it wasn’t BAD, just not the quality I would look for if I was craving good sushi!  Additionally, they offered an abundance of other Japanese / Chinese dishes, along with steamed crab legs, and some other “fish items”.  Mr. Z was very disappointed with the salmon, saying it was very dried out and rubbery.  Most of the fried or breaded dishes were a little on the soggy side since I’m sure it’s hard to keep them crispy when they’re being steamed!  Flavor-wise, it was all pretty good, but I have to be honest – it’s doubtful that we’d go back since we both felt they were a little over-priced for the quality of the food ($14.99 for the dinner buffet), but if you’re looking to fill your belly and not worry too much about how great the food is, then this is certainly the place to do it!

P.S.  According to their website, they have a new location coming soon to Strongsville.
