Rosewood Grille
Our anticipation was finally rewarded lastnight with our first visit to Strongsville’s newest dining establishment. Though we had never been to the location in Hudson, we had dined at all of the other restaurants owned by this group (Cabin Club, Blue Point, Salmon Dave’s, and Delmonicos to name a few) and had always been more than pleased. Our experience at Rosewood was no different. The atmosphere was really warm and inviting and we were greeted in a friendly manner. Though they don’t take reservations, they do encourage “call ahead” and promise they’ll do everything possible to accommodate. We arrived slightly ahead of the time I had given the hostess, and because they weren’t yet crowded, we were escorted immediately to a very comfortable booth. Our server (Eric) brought us a basket of delicious bread right away and explained their process of making it fresh each day. Though the menu isn’t huge, there were numerous dishes to choose from. Quite a few appetizers, salads and flatbreads and numerous entrees including whole roasted chicken, cedar plank salmon, pork chops and twin filets. There were several other seafood items (shrimp, trout and walleye), but we chose the filets and the salmon and decided we’d share both. The salmon was excellent – cooked to perfection; and while the filets were outstanding cuts of meat and cooked perfectly, we found them to be overly seasoned (WAY TOO salty). They were so tender, you could almost cut them with a fork alone, and were served with Rosewood’s own steak sauce, which was also somewhat salty. We did eat them as they were, but asked Eric if “next time” it would be possible to order them with NO seasoning on the outside and he assured us that was no problem at all. Everything was just great, including our server, Eric. We are very excited to have Rosewood Grille so close to home and look forward to making it one of our regular hangouts!
