Taki’s Greek Kitchen

24 April, 2013 | Greek | By: Mrs Z

We didn’t think there were any restaurants left in Avon Lake that we hadn’t been to, but this place was recommended to us by a friend and what a great find it was!  Taki’s is a relatively small and cozy little place, with a definite Greek flair.  It was surprising to see so many occupied tables on a Tuesday night, but we were greeted warmly and seated immediately.  Their menu, while not huge, was very diverse and offered a nice selection of specialty drinks, appetizers, salads, entrees and of course desserts.  Additionally, they have a list of nightly specials!  Our server, Christina, was awesome!  She was quick to offer suggestions/recommendations and was very knowledgeable in terms of how certain dishes were prepared.  In addition to her attentiveness; she was lots of fun to talk to and didn’t make us feel rushed at all.

To start, we shared an order of saganaki, which was delicious and for our entrees, we chose the moussaka and the brizola hirini (2 center-cut, bone-in pork chops).  Both were excellent (by far, the best moussaka I have ever tasted).  Unfortunately, by the time we finished our meals, we had no room left to try one of their signature desserts!

If you enjoy authentic Greek dishes, then this place is most definitely worth visiting!

Taki’s Greek Kitchen and Bar is located at 377 Lear Road, Avon Lake, OH.
