Tres Potrillos
Another outstanding discovery! While we both enjoy Mexican food, we’ve basically stuck to our neighborhood place, which is outstanding, serving the typical Mexican dishes that you’d find most everywhere (though prepared better than most). Tres Potrillos was a true ‘step above’, both in their menu choices and the setting. Most Mexican restaurants are “cute” and try to be what they think we view as “authentic” looking. Tres Potrillos was more on the “elegant” side – truly a beautiful and comfortable atmosphere.
The service was excellent and our server was both knowledgeable and friendly, offering advice on some of the dishes we asked about. Rather than having his usual chicken fajitas, Mr. Z ordered the Chicken Santa Fe; which was “sort of” like fajitas, but with a twist! He loved it! I ordered the Pollo A La Crema Y Espinaca, which was so outstanding I didn’t want to finish it. I’ve had this same basic dish elsewhere and it’s always been sort of bland and unexciting (and didn’t have the spinach this one did). This truly was amazing. There were several unique dishes on the menu and the fact that we both liked what we had so much, we’d have a hard time picking something else next time, but we’re going to try!
