Bubba’s Q
We may be somewhat split on our opinion about Bubba’s Q! Mr. Z seemed to think it was pretty good – the pulled chicken dinner he ordered, as well as their ‘famous bbq sauce’! I, on the other hand, wasn’t as impressed. It wasn’t bad, but I didn’t like it as well as some of the other BBQ spots we’ve been to over the years. Of course the fact that the service was awful might have been a contributing factor! For a Tuesday night when they were practically empty and there were four servers on duty, to have to wait almost 45 minutes for our food was pretty unacceptable in my book. In all fairness, the server warned me that the fried chicken I ordered would take at least 15 minutes to prepare (more like 25), but that doesn’t account for the 20 minutes we had to wait to even place our order and the fact that she didn’t come back to check on us until 10 minutes after someone else had delivered our food. Overall, it was okay, but not someplace I’d go back to.
On a final note, just a word of warning – their menu shows “Momma’s Southern Fried Chicken – whole or half”! Sadly our server didn’t explain that it did NOT mean whole order or half order, but whole CHICKEN or half!!! By the time we ordered, I was pretty hungry so I ordered the whole (what I assumed was “order”) and ended up with enough fried chicken to feel a family of 6 (lots left over)! It was good, but again, nothing to write home about!
