Forage Public House
OK, I have to rant a little here….I’m not quite sure I get this new trend of “farm to table”! I mean seriously – some folks may care (a lot) about the origin of what they are eating, but frankly I’m not crazy about a menu that, next to every single item, lists the name of the farm and where it’s located, etc. I want GOOD food, prepared in a healthy environment and that’s it! That being said; Forage Public House was good – by no means the best meal we’ve ever had, but definitely better than some.
We both ended up selecting off of the “nightly specials” menu (of which there was an abundance). It happened to be “Taco Tuesday” and trust me – these weren’t just your average tacos! It was a mix and match approach for $3.00 each! Great deal; especially since they were GOOD. I had one fish taco and one chicken taco. Both were soft tortillas and both had different sauces and toppings. I really enjoyed both (REALLY loved the fish). I also tried the Angels on Horseback as an appetizer. It was good but not great!
Mr. Z had the pulled pork sliders. Once you get past the very wordy description listed on the menu, they were basically 3 little pulled pork sliders topped with some sort of coleslaw. Tasty, but again….not spectacular.
We enjoyed Forage, but really couldn’t think of any reason why we absolutely HAD to return!
