Brown Sugar Thai Cuisine
As many times as we’ve driven by this little hole-in-the-wall; we’d never have thought to try it unless we’d specifically been looking for a Thai place that we’ve never been to before. This was it – and though as one review we’d read stated….it may not be the BEST Thai in the area, but it was good and the people were so nice, that it made the experience worthwhile.
Much (much) nicer on the inside than on the outside; we were greeted by a very sweet, friendly server and seated immediately. We were really sort of surprised to see how nicely appointed (and clean) it was inside since our initial impression was…..uh oh!
The menu has a wide variety of both regular Chinese and Thai dishes and some sounded really unusual. We started with an order of Crab Rangoon (which was probably the best ever) and a bowl of Wonton Soup (ummm …not so much!) Mr. Z ordered the Salmon Teriyaki which was a beautiful salmon filet and served atop lightly steamed assorted veggies. He said that as nice as it looked, it didn’t have much flavor. Rather than having the traditional Pad Thai, I went with the Crispy Pad Thai. I have to say that while it wasn’t ‘bad’ it was lacking in SOMETHING.
Neither of us was crazy about our dishes, so I have to believe that in this case; the previous reviews were right on the money! In spite of this; our server was so polite and attentive that we overlooked the so/so meal.
