Pizzazz

3 January, 2012 | Italian | By: Mrs Z

Neat little Italian place practically on the John Carroll campus.  Reasonable prices and a pretty decent menu selection.  Tried the pizza, as well as a couple of the entrée items.  Pizza was pretty good, as was the chicken parm and the eggplant rollettes.  Salad was somewhat bland – just a bowl of your basic iceberg lettuce and […]

Mama Roberto’s Italian Restaurant

13 December, 2011 | Italian | By: Mrs Z

Wow, a long drive for “not so good” food!  Cute little family owned place, with a really interesting menu; huger than huge portions……. It’s just a shame that nothing had ANY FLAVOR whatsoever.  Couldn’t imagine garlic knots without the GARLIC. We agreed that it would have been really good if there was some flavor to […]

Rocky’s Pizza & Italian Restaurant

13 September, 2011 | Italian, Pizza | By: Mr Z

Was a bit apprehensive when I saw the outside – dingy little place in an old worn out strip center; but…… once inside, was very impressed.  Décor was ok – a little worn, but certainly you could tell effort was put into making the most of a small space.  The service was good and the […]

Bricco Pub

23 August, 2011 | Italian, Sports Bar | By: Mrs Z

We ended up here by default – the original place in that location was no longer in business.  This was a scaled down, less formal version of Bricco Italian Café in Fairlawn.  Interesting bar-type menu – good burger and pizza, and a nice patio, but no reason to go back.

Vivo Italian Ristorante

Remarkably excellent Italian restaurant in Parma!  Set in what looks to be an old 7-11 strip center, but totally updated, contemporary décor inside.  Pretty extensive menu, outstanding service and again….. amazingly excellent food.  A bit pricey for Parma, but the quality of the food warranted the $$.

Sorrento’s Italian Restaurant

Another one of those good restaurants hidden in a worn out strip center. REALLY good dishes (great eggplant parm) and outstanding service.

Violante’s

PHENOMENAL Italian food! Didn’t look like much on the outside. Matter of fact, we almost didn’t go in; however once inside, the place was small and dark, but nicely decorated and very clean. Great server and outstanding food.

Pasta Lear’s

22 March, 2011 | Italian | By: Mr Z

Another surprisingly good neighborhood Italian place that looks like it used to be a convenient store. The calzones were excellent – some of the best.  Everything else was pretty good as well.  Prices were reasonable and the only negative was that they were shorthanded the night we were there, so the service was lacking, however given […]

Manero’s

1 February, 2011 | Italian | By: Mrs Z

Ridiculously it is RIGHT NEXT DOOR to Carabba’s (don’t get that at all), and ironically – not as good.  They definitely have decent Italian food but we didn’t find anything outstanding or memorable and felt our meals were not as good as either Carabba’s or Olive Garden, but way more $$.  In addition, our server had no […]

Marotta’s (Italian)

7 December, 2010 | Italian, Pizza | By: Mrs Z

This was a very small place in a very cool area.  It was crowded enough on a Tuesday night – I can’t imagine what it is like on the weekends.  The food leanded more towards Northern Italian, but was very good.  We did try the pizza (naturally) as an appetizer and it was excellent.  They […]
