The Blue Snapper
This used to be Vhooda (and Cooker prior to that). A very cool atmosphere and really good food. They had a wide variety of seafood items, along with non-seafood, on their menu and everything we tried was very good.

Co-owner and chef formerly of Velosity in Lakewood and Vue in Hudson. Interesting menu and very good food, but just a little too over-the-top (descriptions of the food prep way too extensive and hard to follow for the average guest). Great service on a Tuesday but would be interested to see if things were the same […]
Extremely hard to find, but a cool place in a very cool location (once we found it). Food was good – not great, but would go back just for the atmosphere!
Located where Blake’s Seafood once was, the view of the falls was phenomenal and the food was “good”, as was the service. The atmosphere was unbeatable; however it was somewhat pricey!
An outstanding place – and huge!! The menu was really big, offering everything from Italian dishes and steaks, to seafood. The service was excellent as well. It was a little pricey, but was a perfect “special-occasion” place to go.
The word “Saloon” is very deceptive in this case. We were expecting something along the lines of an old-fashioned western bar, but what we found was a really neat place, warmly appointed with great food, and an awesome patio. Beware, it’s somewhat pricey.
A good steak / seafood restaurant. Not quite up to Hyde Park standards, but good nevertheless.
What a pleasant surprise since we weren’t expecting much. Elyria isn’t exactly known for it’s wonderful dining establishments, however this was terrific. GREAT food and service. The decor was a little ghastly (dark green and red walls and carpeting), but we were told they were planning a remodel in the near future. We would definitely […]
A good old-fashioned steak house. The place was well-aged, the décor was rustic, but the food and service were pretty good. Definitely not one of those places you hear about unless you live in the area.
A very cool, contemporary little bistro in downtown Akron. Packed to capacity for a Tuesday, yet the service was exceptional. The food was excellent and Mr. Z said “one of the best steaks he’s ever had”. A major feat since he’s very particular about his steak!
