Fat Bob’s Pizza

6 November, 2015 | Pizza | By: Mrs Z

This was another one of those places that we’ve probably driven by a hundred times and just never felt compelled to stop.  On this Tuesday night, Mr. Z bit the bullet and decided we’d try it.  I mean, it’s been there for a couple of years, so they must be doing something right….right?!

The way it is set up is that you order at the counter and when your order is ready, a server brings it to your table.  They do offer several different beers which is a plus (in our book)!  Since we both like different toppings on our pizza, we ordered smalls (6 very small slices).  Mr. Z stuck with his ‘plain cheese’ and I added fresh spinach and tomatoes to mine.  The pizza was very good, but like other things, pizza is a very subjective dish, meaning everyone has their own idea about what GOOD pizza is.  The crust was tasty, but not the kind of ‘NY pizza crust’ we prefer.  We both liked the sauce a lot – it was tasty and had just the right about of tang to it without being overly acidic.  Overall, we enjoyed our pizza, but again….not the NY kind of pizza we often get a taste for.

The owner is fantastic and spends a lot of time in the dining room talking to the guests and making sure they had everything they needed.  We gave Fat Bob’s two thumbs up – we couldn’t find a single thing wrong/bad about it and depending on the kind of pizza we were in the mood for, we’d go back in a minute.
