Fat Head’s Brewery & Saloon

6 August, 2015 | Sports Bar | By: Mrs Z

We were absolutely shocked to find this place packed to the walls at 5:30 on a Tuesday night!  There were no specials to speak of and there wasn’t a major sports playoff game being broadcast, but this gigantic facility was already shoulder-to-shoulder when we arrived.

Their menu is huge and if you’re a first-timer, allow adequate time to read it.  A word of warning though – the sandwich descriptions given aren’t totally depictive of what you actually get.  After much consideration, I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak and while it was ok, I found the steak to be tough and very hard to chew/digest.  It didn’t seem to have much flavor, so it’s not something I’d ever order again.  Mr. Z had one of their chicken sandwiches that was supposed to come with ham, cheese and an “over light” fried egg!  The egg was definitely NOT over light (but I didn’t really expect it to be).  He said the chicken was really tasty, but basically it was “just a chicken sandwich”.  Most every item on the menu is served with “killer hot sauce”, so our belief is that they assume EVERYONE likes hot sauce (NOT).  That’s not to say that some of their other menu items aren’t really, really good – we just found ours to be so-so.  Another warning – unless you like/love craft beers; this is not the place for you.  Their selection is over the top, but we both prefer your run-of-the-mill domestic bottled light beer.  Thankfully, we were able to get Miller Lite (draught only), so that was a plus.  Perhaps the best thing about Fat Head’s was our server, Carmella.  She was great and did a really top-notch job especially since the place was packed!

We’ll go back, but will surely order something different!
