Kingshead Pub and Restaurant
Though Kingshead Pub isn’t someplace you’re likely to stop by because “you were in the neighborhood”; it was such a pleasant surprise that I had to share it (because…..we WERE in the neighborhood)! While vacationing in Plantation, Florida; it was suggested that I “do my thing” and look for a “pub” that none of us had ever been to before. That wasn’t a difficult task since none of us could recall being at ANY pub in the area. So I started searching and came across some excellent reviews for Kingshead Pub and Restaurant. Based on the address, it wasn’t too far and we were all familiar with the area it was in, but knowing that area pretty well, just couldn’t picture where it could possibly be. I did call ahead to make sure they were still in business and what their hours were.
Situated in a very “interesting” strip center; we were initially a little apprehensive, but there was no turning back at that point. No way did the outside even hint at the warm authenticity of this English pub that we stepped into. The menu was large and contained all of the traditional English dishes, plus several we had never heard of. The beer, wine and cider selections were extensive as well.
Our entrée choices consisted of burgers, Big Babes Beefeater sandwich and a chicken curry dish (odd choice, but VERY good)! None of us were disappointed. Probably the biggest surprise of all was to learn that they had been in business, in this location, for 20 YEARS!!! So…..should you ever find yourself in THAT neighborhood; it’s definitely worth checking out!
