P J Marley’s
I would love to be able to say that we absolutely LOVED this place, however….. just can’t do it! You’d think that someplace that was close, relatively new, had a pretty cool atmosphere AND was relatively inexpensive would be #1 on our go-to list; but unfortunately, cool as their menu was – we simply didn’t enjoy it. Let me start by saying that P J Marley’s is basically a bar; serving burgers, sandwiches, wings and typical bar food. So what could be bad about that, right? Well they also mention that they are sort of a “farm to table” type of place with all of their meats, etc. coming to them from local farms. I’m not sure how, since I’ve never tasted venison or anything wild, but the hamburger had a “gamey” taste to it. Mr. Z thought the same. It’s pretty hard to mess up a burger, but between the gamey taste and the fact that I didn’t really think that Granny Smith apple slices and blue cheese went well together on a burger, it really wasn’t enjoyable.
Now that doesn’t mean that we wouldn’t go back again and have something OTHER THAN a burger and if you are into that ‘gamey taste’ by all means, give it a try!
