Avon Brewing Company
We tried ABC at someone’s suggestion, and while we’d probably go back, we weren’t overly impressed with our experience. Our server, Jake, was awesome….very friendly and helpful, but I felt like he almost “oversold” everything on the menu. Since we usually don’t stray too far from our usual domestic, bottled beer, you really can’t visit a brewery and NOT step outside that comfort zone. Mr. Z wanted the lightest of their ales, so after consulting with Jake, he had the Gold Dust ale (it hit the mark). I had the Clash of Clanns, which was a red ale and REALLY GOOD (sort of like Killian’s Red)!
Sadly, the food fell a little short. After Jake’s hard sell on their wings, I ordered 6 of their garlic parm wings and found them to be tough, and somewhat tasteless. Pretty disappointing. I also had the ½ pear salad, which totally didn’t measure up to the description on the menu…..another disappointment. Mr. Z had the burger wrap, which sounded delicious, but wasn’t! Because the ingredients inside were cold (lettuce, tomatoes, etc.), so was the burger, which pretty much threw off the whole dish.
We would go back for a do-over just because the place was pretty cool, but overall we were disappointed that the menu made everything SOUND really unique and wonderful, but sadly…..nothing was (except Jake).
