Grillers Pub

12 November, 2014 | Bar | By: Mrs Z

About the only thing I can say about this neighborhood bar is that their website is, by far, more impressive than the actual bar itself and that their Philly Cheesesteaks are as good as they claim!  Otherwise, there really isn’t  much to say.  Our server (who also doubled as the bartender) was good – attentive and friendly and their Tuesday night special, a $5.00 Philly Cheesesteak served with fries (which, though they claimed to be ‘natural cut’, didn’t look or taste like it) was really, really good.  The beer selection was pretty extensive as well.

I have to admit that I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to the way a restaurant or bar ‘appears’ and my initial reaction when we walked through the front door was to run – fast; however, our number one rule is that there can be no objection to other’s pick for that night, so I soldiered on and we sat down at one of the VERY few tables in the place.  We could tell by the patrons sitting at the bar, that this was someplace that did the bulk of their business with ‘regulars’ – the neighborhood folks that come in night after night (though there wasn’t anything about it that resembled CHEERS)!

Bottom line – they have great Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches and since they have something different going on most nights, they probably have quite a following, but it’s doubtful that we will become ‘regulars’.
