JoJo’s Italian Restaurant

1 April, 2015 | Italian | By: Mrs Z

Wow, this was another one of those amazing finds!  JoJo’s looks pretty non-descript on the outside, and is located in a very tired-looking strip center; however, don’t be deceived!  Though we’ve driven by it for years, we never even noticed it, but thanks to our son-in-law’s recommendation, we wanted to try it.

While very small, with few tables/booths, the décor was really warm and comfortable, unlike some Italian restaurants that try too hard.  Plus Frank Sinatra in the background was a nice addition to the ambiance!  We were fortunate to be seated right away (really odd for a Tuesday at not quite 6pm).  Even though there was only one server (Carly, who was wonderful); the service was great.

JoJo’s has a really nice menu, with quite a wide variety of traditional Italian dishes and I have to say, the garlic knots that are serve with the soup/salad are absolutely AMAZING – definitely the best we’ve ever tasted – and gigantic!!!  Naturally, I had to try the eggplant parmesan (my standard go-to whenever we go to an Italian place we’ve never been to before).  It was served casserole style and was so good that I was tempted to try to finish the huge portion they brought me…..but common sense won out.  It was served with a side of spaghetti with either regular marinara or garlic butter.  I opted for the garlic butter which was delicious, but if you’re not a garlic fan I’d definitely avoid it.  Mr. Z had the baked ziti, which he loved, but again….a massive portion, so we’ve got enough leftovers for another full meal (wish we had thought to get some of those garlic knots to bring home)!  Even though this was our first visit to JoJo’s; it certainly won’t be our last!
