Prosperity Social Club
This was a very ‘interesting’ place! I wasn’t really sure what to expect based on their website, but it gave the online appearance of being more updated and modern. Such was not the case, but we both agreed that it was a pretty cool place. The walls were graced with vintage beer signs (Ballantine, Pabst Blue Ribbon, and the like) and I’m pretty sure the tables and chairs were vintage SOMETHING, but overall, it was clean and had a really diverse menu.
One of the menu items they claimed to be ‘known for’ was their stuffed cabbage, which was my choice. While it was not the best I ever had (very little cabbage), it was good and very satisfying. Mr. Z had the fried chicken and said it was also ‘pretty good’. We did try their potato pancakes (one each) and they were very different from what we’re used to – but good nevertheless. Our server Nicole (who seemed to be manning all of the tables in addition to the bar) was really attentive and friendly, so the service was outstanding considering she was flying solo.
Would we recommend it…..not sure; but if you want to try something that feels like a throw-back to the 30’s; this is your place.
