The Merchant Tavern
AWESOME place and definitely bigger and better inside than it appears from the parking lot. At first glance, one would think that they only had your typical bar food…..burgers, wings, etc., and while they do have a nice selection of those, they have quite an extensive and diverse menu; the chef (not ‘cook’) is very skilled with just about everything that is prepared.
We shared the fried ravioli which was absolutely delicious, as was the marinara sauce that came with it. As his entrée, Mr. Z ordered the Maple Bourbon Apple baked salmon which he said was outstanding. He got 2 very large filets that were done to perfection with a delicious sauce. I had the garlic parmesan wings, which were awesome; along with the Mediterranean Salmon Salad (yes, total overkill, but just had to try the wings). I have to say that the Salmon in my salad was great; however I was a little disappointed with the salad itself – too many greens and not enough of anything else. I also wasn’t crazy about the dressings (the Lemon Honey Vinaigrette or the Blue Cheese). I might have liked one of the other salads better and will try next time.
Our server, Mike, was great and we will absolutely go back again. Two thumbs up for sure.
